“…In the solid state, the existence of the complex ion NbOCl 5 2- has been demonstrated by Raman and IR spectroscopy and by X-ray diffraction studies on [As(C 6 H 5 ) 4 ] 2 NbOCl 5 ·2CH 2 Cl 2 and it is also known to be present in solid RbNbOCl 5 and CsNbOCl 5 . In solution, NbOCl 5 2- has been identified in hydrochloric acid, in various nonaqueous solvents, , and in CsCl−NbOCl 3 melts with CsCl in excess . NbOCl 4 - ions formed in the latter melts 10 when less CsCl was added, and the presence of this complex was also indicated in acetonitrile 8,9 and dioxane 9 solutions.…”
