“…Setae were measured from the bases of their insertions to their tips. Idiosomal setal notation follows that of Lindquist and Evans (1965), the leg chaetotaxy that of Evans (1963a) and the palp chaetotaxy that of Evans (1963b). Idiosomal notation for glands and lyrifissures follows Johnston and Moraza (1991 Diagnosis -The concept of Myrmozercon used here is based on that of Shaw and Seeman (2009) and Joharchi and Moradi (2013).…”

“…The notation for idiosomal setae follows that of Lindquist & Evans (1965) adapted by and Lindquist (1994), and that for leg and palp setae follows that of Evans (1963aEvans ( , 1963b. Distinction of idiosomal pore-like structures as glandular openings (gland pores or solenostomes) versus poroids (proprioceptors or stress receptors, often called 'lyrifissures') were distinguished based on previous work by Athias-Henriot (1969b, 1975 on various Mesostigmata and by Krantz & Redmond (1987) on Macrochelidae, and their notation generally follows that of Athias-Henriot (1975) for the dorsal idiosoma, and Athias-Henriot (1971) for the ventral idiosoma.…”

“…Palpal setation characters are not useful for nymphal and adult ticks because of increased numbers and intraspecific variability of setae during ontogeny, which render the homology of setae difficult and unreliable. The notation applied to the larval palpal setae is that proposed by Evans (1963b) for mesostigmatic mites and modified slightly by Klompen (1992) for ticks. Setae are distinguished and denoted by their position on the anterior (ad) and posterior (pd) dorsal faces, anterolateral (al) and posterolateral (pl) faces, and ventral (v) face of the palpal segments, except that the cluster of distal setae on the tibiotarsus are simply counted but not individually denoted.…”
