The notions of the bipolar complex fuzzy set (BCFS) and complex bipolar fuzzy set (CBFS) have been already given, but these notions of BCFS and CBFS have the problem that they contradict the basic definition of the complex numbers which we discussed in this article, and then we defined the new definition of BCFS. Our defined notion of BCFS is more closed to bipolarity as compared with already existing BCFS and CBFS, and more accurate. BCFS is the fusion of bipolar fuzzy set (BFS) which a decision analyst needs to describe the positive and negative aspects of an object and complex fuzzy set (CFS) which a decision analyst needs to handle two‐dimensional (two variables) information. When there is information of two variables with positive and negative aspects then a decision analyst needs BCFS to handle this information. In this article, we also interpreted some basic operations on BCFS like a complement, intersection, and union and explained them with the help of examples. Additionally, we defined the concept of type‐1 partially BCFS and type‐2 partially BCFS. Further, we interpreted some generalized trigonometric similarity measures such as generalized cosine similarity measure, generalized tangent similarity measure, generalized cotangent similarity measure, and generalized hybrid trigonometric similarity measure for BCFS. The weighted generalized trigonometric similarity measures are also presented in this article. After that, we applied these similarity measures (SMs) in two real‐life applications (pattern recognition and medical diagnosis) to show the benefits and advantages of our proposed SMs. Finally, we did a comparison of our demonstrated SMs with some existing SMs to show the superiority, usefulness, and effectiveness of our proposed SMs.

Complex picture fuzzy N-soft sets and their decision-making algorithm

We establish in this manuscript a new model complex picture fuzzy N-soft sets (CPFN-SSs) which is the fusion of complex picture fuzzy sets (CPFSs) along with N-soft sets (N-SSs) and a novel definition of CPFSs which is a mixture of complex fuzzy sets (CFSs) and picture fuzzy sets (PFSs). In CPFN-SS notions of N-SSs, fuzzy N-SSs (FN-SSs), intuitionistic FN-SSs (IFN-SSs), picture FN-SSs (PFN-SSs) complex FN-SSs (CFN-SS), complex IFN-SSs (CIFN-SSs) are generalized. We also talk about few basic operations on CPFN-SSs with the assistance of examples. Additionally, we establish two kinds of union (extended and restricted) and intersection (extended and restricted) of CPFN-SSs and illustrate them through examples. We also establish a complement of CPFN-SSs along with an example. Furthermore, we define an algorithm to solve the data in the environment of CPFN-SSs, and then we represent two real-world applications (performance assessment of e-waste recycling program and predication about the champions of FIFA world cup 2022 through audience poll) of our established model in decision-making (DM) to show the advantages and usefulness of the CPFN-SSs. In the end, we represent a comparison of our established model with some existing methods which shows that our established model is more general than existing ones.

Empirical attacks on Federated Learning (FL) systems indicate that FL is fraught with numerous attack surfaces throughout the FL execution. These attacks can not only cause models to fail in specific tasks, but also infer private information. While previous surveys have identified the risks, listed the attack methods available in the literature or provided a basic taxonomy to classify them, they mainly focused on the risks in the training phase of FL. In this work, we survey the threats, attacks and defenses to FL throughout the whole process of FL in three phases, including Data and Behavior Auditing Phase, Training Phase and Predicting Phase. We further provide a comprehensive analysis of these threats, attacks and defenses, and summarize their issues and taxonomy. Our work considers security and privacy of FL based on the viewpoint of the execution process of FL. We highlight that establishing a trusted FL requires adequate measures to mitigate security and privacy threats at each phase. Finally, we discuss the limitations of current attacks and defense approaches and provide an outlook on promising future research directions in FL.
