Some Bioactivities of Heterocyclic Compounds Containing Pyrazoline Moiety A Short Review

Abstract: Current research on chemistry of heterocyclic compounds is particularly focused on the development of diversity-oriented molecules containing nitrogen atom in the form of pyrazoline. Although less familiar than pyrazoles, they have shown to exhibit appreciable biological activities. This review highlights some pyrazoline compounds as promising agents for antioxidant, antitrypanosomal, antitubercular, antitumor and MAO inhibitor.

“…Pyranopyrazole-benzothiazole and oxadiazole compounds (23 & 24) were synthesized by one-pot methodology to achieve 81-91 % yield of products. Compound (23) with methylsubstituted gave excellent antimicrobial properties followed by methoxy and hydroxy-substituted compounds also showed better activities against S. aureus, B. subtilis, P. vulgaris, E. coli, A. niger and A. flavus. [178,179] Moreover compound (24) exhibited antioxidant activities, EDG compounds (24) at para position confirmed higher antioxidant activity as compared to orthosubstituted compounds.…”

“…[5,6] It has other alternative names such as pyrano [2,3c]pyrazoles, 4H-pyrano [2,3-c]pyrazoles and also 1,4dihydropyrano [2,3-c]pyrazol-5-yl cyanides. [7,8] Pyranopyrazole is a bioactive moiety [9] that has numerous applications in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, herbicide, fungicide, [10] insecticide, [11] larvicidal, [12] and biological activities i. e., antibacterial, [13][14][15] antimicrobial, [16] anticancer, [17][18][19][20] antitubercular, [21] antiallergenic, [22] antioxidant, [23,24] antineoplastic, [25] , anti-inflammatory, [26] and human Chk1 kinase inhibitor activities (Figure 2). [3,[27][28][29] The stability of pyranopyrazoles depends on substituent rings and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions between the molecules.…”

“…Pyrazolines have well-established therapeutic benefits for neurodegenerative diseases. The present investigation considered the beneficial effects of pyrazolines reported since 2003 on certain neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), and psychiatric disorders. AD is one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders in elderly people and accounts for more than 80% of the world’s cases of dementia .…”
