Some aspects regarding the structure and the mechanism of the PVC synthesis

Abstract

The behavior of models of PVC‐unsaturated end groups subjected to radical reactions indicates the important role some of these groupings play in the after‐polymerization processes. As a result the respective groups lead to new types of abnormal structures in PVC. The PVC head‐to‐head macroradical is thought to play an essential role in the branching formation and the occurring of the interruption processes leading to labile unsaturated end groups. Based on these results correlated with direct measurements of unsaturated structures in PVC, a reaction mechanism is suggested to explain these phenomena.
