Some aspects of quantitative gas analysis by quadrupole mass spectrometer

Abstract: In spite of keeping conditions constant during various measurcments, interpretations of gas-analytic mass spectra were often found to be difficult as, apparently, cracking patterns ate not constant. This happens e.g. in case of variations of pressure during the measurement. Some possible effects (charge transfer processes in the high-pressure range, contributions from surface ions in the low-pressure range) have been studied and ate discussed in the presentation.
