Some abnormalities of the thyroid gland in non‐domesticated birds

Abstract: SUMMARYThe thyroid gland in 87 non-domesticated birds has been examined. Both macroscopic and histological abnormalities are infrequent. A follicular adenoma together with cases of colloid goitre and diffuse micro follicular hyperplasia are described.

Some of the cases included in this survey have been reported elsewhere (Wadsworth etal, 1978;Wadsworth and Jones, 1979,1980.
