Solvothermal Syntheses and Crystal Structures of the Two New Polymeric Compounds [Ce(C4N3H13)23‐SbS4)]n and [La(C4N3H13)24‐Sb2S5)(μ3‐SO4)]n

Abstract: The two new one-dimensional polymeric compounds [Ce(C 4 N 3 H 13 ) 2 (μ 3 -SbS 4 )] n (1) and [La(C 4 N 3 H 13 ) 2 (μ 4 -Sb 2 S 5 )(μ 3 -SO 4 )] n (2) were synthesized under solvothermal conditions. In the first compound, the unique Ce 3+ cation is surrounded by six nitrogen atoms of the amine ligands and by three sulfur atoms of the thioantimonate(V) anion. The CeN 6 S 3 polyhedron may be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. The prisms are interconnected by [SbS 4 ] 3anions, which act in a μ 3 -… Show more

“…The Sb–S bond lengths of the SbS 3 moiety (2.3982(1)–2.4813(1) Å) are shorter than in the SbS 4 unit with two long (2.6885(2) and 2.8021(2) Å) and two short (2.3987(1) and 2.4580(2) Å) bonds (Table 3, Supporting Information). This bonding pattern is typical for SbS 4 groups and was observed in several other thioantimonates(III). ,,,,, We note that the Sb–S bonds in the [Sb V S 4 ] 3– anion are much shorter and scatter around 2.3 Å. , Interestingly, no further Sb···S contacts below 3 Å are found in the structure of 3 .…”

“…Notably, the coordinatively unsaturated dinuclear lanthanide complex as bridging nodes within the chalcogenidometalates of the group 13–15 elements is uncommon, and normally they occur mononuclear. ,, For instance, the 1-D La–Sb–S chain, [La(en) 3 (μ 3 -SbS 4 )] n , is formed by the interconnection of [La(en) 3 ] 3+ complexes and multidentate [SbS 4 ] bridging units. The 1-D La–Sn–Se chain in [{La(dien) 2 } 4 (μ 4 -Sn 2 Se 9 )(μ-Sn 2 Se 6 )] n , is constructed by the linkage of {La(dien) 2 } 3+ complex, [Sn 2 Se 9 ] and [Sn 2 Se 6 ] units.…”
