“…Till now, although there has been much progress in the understanding of the behavior of phase separation, some important questions on the LLPT of binary alloy have remained unanswered. [52][53][54][55] In this paper, we report molecular dynamic simulations on the LLPT of Al-Pb alloy, highlighting its relationship with structure heterogeneity.…”

“…Phase separation is an important physical phenomenon occurring in various advanced materials such as metallic alloys, [1,2] inorganic systems [3,4] and macromolecular polymers. [5,6] The modulation of this phase transformation may be applied as an efficient approach to optimize and control expected structures during materials fabrication and processing.…”

“…2 O solution increases rapidly before 𝑡=24.2 s with the extension of levitation time, indi-cating that SCN globules of the smaller surface tension migrate outwards the drop rapidly because of the smaller volume fraction, at the same time the SCN globules near the drop edge move quickly than the inner SCN globules under the effects of the volume fraction and centrifugal force, as shown in Fig.4(c), the SCN-70%H 2 O drop forms the asymmetric macrosegregation structure so that the H 2 O solvent is surrounded by the SCN solute. With the extension of levitation time, the centrifugal force declines gradually and an obvious inflection point displays at 𝑡=161.9 s, indicating that the outer layer SCN solute distributes homogeneously and forms the core-shell structure that the H 2 O core is surrounded by SCN shell.…”

“…Generally, the liquid-liquid phase transformation causes the formation of a solidification microstructure with serious phase segregation. [1,2] External fields have great effects on the solidification of immiscible alloys. Experiments have been carried out to investigate the kinetic characteristics of the solidification of immiscible alloys under microgravity conditions, [3−7] in a magnetic field [8−13] or an ultrasonic field, [14] etc.…”
