Abstract:A genetic algorithm (GA) with parallel chromosome coding scheme is proposed to solve the integrated modular product scheduling and manufacturing cell configuration problem in Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems (RMSs). In the proposed GA, each chromosome contains two parallel sets of genes. The first set of genes represents job sequences and the second stands for cell configurations. The job sequence dependent work-inprocess (WIP) cost and cell configuration dependent manufacturing cost are minimized to enhan… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
