“…2-Aminothiophenol is a bidentate ligand containing nitrogen and sulfur atoms as active sites for effective coordination with metal ions. It is also able to act as monoanion and dianion by deprotonation of the thio-and amino-groups [24][25][26] and form charge transfer complex [27].…”

“…MOLYBDENUM Spectrophotometry. Extraction-photometry has been employed for the determination of molybdenum in steels with the mixed ligand complex of molybdenum with SCN" and , -diethyl aniline (30,317), with the 2-aminobenzenethiol complex (95), with the Mo-pyrocatechol-BuPh3P+ ternary (519), hexamethylphosphortriamide (320), o-hydroxyquinone phthalein in the presence of polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate (326), in steels and cast irons with potassium sulfocyanide and tin chloride (469), with the ternary complex of Mo(VI)-Na-2-bromo-4,5-dihydroxyazobenzene-4'sulfonate-cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (522), in high alloys with p-nitrophenylfluorone (315), in ferromolybdenum with 4-butyrylpyrogallol (141), in ores and ferrophosphorus with Tiron-papaverine and Tiron-dimedrol ternary complexes with Mo (478), and in high alloy-high speed steels with SCN- (280).…”

“…The absorption spectrum of the complex shows a maximum at 470 nm. The investigation of Chakrabarti and Bag [7] shows that, with 2-aminobenzenethiol, molybdenum forms a green complex, which is quantitatively extractable into chloroform at pH = 1.4-2.8, with a molar absorptivity of 70 800 L mol -1 cm -1 . The molar absorptivity was found to be 18 000 ± 200 in the presence of thiocyanate and quinolone in 2.5 M hydrochloric acid medium, which is distributed into nitrobenzene [2].…”
