“…The separation ability of the MSTF⊥AAO membrane was evaluated using a dead-end filtration device (Figure S4). For tests with pure water, a ultrahigh-flux permeate flux (1027 ± 20 L m –2 h –1 bar –1 ) was determined; this value is significantly higher than the permeability of commercial ultrafiltration membranes (1–5 L m –2 h –1 bar –1 ) , and precedes most of the reported inorganic and polymer membranes, for example, amine-functionalized SBA-15, polysulfone (PSf UF), , PS- b -PAA, carbon nanotube (CNT) membranes, ZSM-5, PET, and Al 2 O 3 –TiO 2 (Figure a,b). Significantly, the MSTF⊥AAO membrane achieves such a high permeability (1027 ± 20 L m –2 h –1 bar –1 ) under the low pressure of 0.07 bar, which means that less pumping energy is demanded during filtration.…”

“…(a) Schematic showing the solution diffusion through the membranes. (b) Permeation flux of the MSTF⊥AAO membrane compared with the permeation flux of other ultrafiltration membranes. (c) UV–vis absorption spectra before and after a solution of mixed Cyt c and BSA was filtered through the MSTF⊥AAO nanofilter device. (d) Fluorescence spectra before and after the CdSe@ZnS quantum dots were filtered through the nanofilter device.…”

“…Table 1 compares the long-term H 2 SO 4 stability of membranes prepared from different polymers [15][16][17][18][50][51][52][53]. Except the poly(2,5benzimidazole) based membrane (MWCO: 6 kDa) which is in the UF category [54], all other membranes tested are in NF range. In the tests, storage time in acid solution ranged from 24 h up to 4 months while the acid concentration was between 0.1 M and 2 M. Exposure to the H 2 SO 4 concentration higher than 1 M resulted in a significant change in the permeability and rejection properties of the membranes.…”
