Thirteen new 3‐acetyl‐2,5‐disubstituted‐1,3,4‐oxadiazoline derivatives were synthesized from corresponding hydrazide‐hydrazones of isonicotinic acid in the reaction with acetic anhydride. The obtained compounds were identified with the use of spectral methods (IR, 1H‐NMR, 13C‐NMR, MS). In vitro antimicrobial activity screening of synthesized compounds against a panel of bacteria and fungi revealed interesting antibacterial and antifungal activity of tested 1,3,4‐oxadiazoline derivatives, which is comparable to that of commonly used antimicrobial agents.

Density, ρ, and ultrasonic velocity, u of an anti-tuberculosis drug, isoniazid, INH in the aqueous solutions of potassium citrate, K3Cit, and sodium citrate, Na3Cit were determined at T= (298.15 to 318.15) K and, p =0.1MPa atmospheric pressure. The thermo-acoustic properties like isothermal compressibility (βT), heat capacity ratio (g), molar compression (W), acoustic impedance (Z), molar sound velocity(R), relative association (RA), intermolecular free length (Lf), relaxation time, coefficient of thermal expansion(α), and non-linearity parameters have been evaluated from ultrasonic velocity, u, and density, ρ at the studied temperature T= (298.15 to 318.15) K. The results obtained by these processes have been used to analyze the presence of intermolecular interactions existing in the solutions system (INH+Water+K3Cit/Na3Cit). The concentration and temperature effect of the solutions on intermolecular forces were studied at the same pressure

An innovative method for the determination of isoniazid tablets is studied through electrochemical method for the modification of glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Polyoxomolybdate, with stable structures, has not been widely used for the determination of substance. In this study, the mentioned polyoxomolybdate was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-vis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscope (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and used to modify the glassy carbon electrode. The electrochemical performance of the polyoxomolybdate@GCE was investigated with cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), compared with the unmodified electrode, the proposed polyoxomolybdate modified electrode exhibited strong electro-catalytic activities towards isoniazid (INH). Under the optimized conditions, there was linear relationships between the DPV peak currents and the concentrations in the range of 1 × 10 -7 g/L to 3 × 10 -7 g/L for INH (R 2 = 0.9979), with the limit of detection (LOD) of 0.024 μg/L (based on S/N = 3). The modified electrode has proper reproducibility (RSD < 5%), stability, response time (< 3 min) and lifetime (up to 6 days).
