Solution to the puzzle of Γ(D0K+

Abstract: A nonperturbative algebraic approach, which deals with long-distance physics in earnest but also maintains a close contact with quark-line diagrams, has previously been applied to the derivation of the 1 A1 = rule in the K -2 a decays. Reasonable estimates of the rates of DO-TK and ~!JKO decays in terms of the rate of ~! -a a decay have also been obtained, to the approximation in which excited state contributions to the on-mass-shell intermediate states are being neglected for the moment. In this paper, we exa… Show more

“…In the past, explicitly taking into account dynamical contributions of various hadrons, we have studied nonleptonic weak decavs of K and charm mesons and have obtained good results on the approximate A I 1 = f rule in the K -m-r decays [2], the sizable rate [3] of D O +KO+, and the strong suppression [4] of F + -T +~~. In particular, we have demonstrated [5] that the observed large ratio [I], which is a long-standing puzzle, can be reproduced remarkably well by taking into account contributions of exotic four-quark mesons [6] to the intermediate states of the decay processes. However, in Ref.…”

“…However, in Ref. [5] we picked out only the contribution of the [QQ] [QQ] but not that of the (QQ )(GQ) mesons. Therefore, the predicted rate of the D ++.rr+RO decay was very small in disagreement with experiment [I].…”

“…in consistency with the other two-body decays of charm mesons [3,4,5]. Besides, the lighter (qq)(qq) (without * ) mesons are useful to understand the |∆I| = 1/2 rule and its violation in K → ππ decays in consistency with the K L -K S mass difference, the K L → γγ and the Dalitz decays of K L [6].…”
