“…Hydration of glutaraldehyde crosslinked collagen scaffolds in culture significantly decreased mechanical properties, reducing its potential for broader clinical applications such as meniscus replacement. Incorporation of artificial polymers, such as PLA, may increase the mechanical properties as we and others have previously demonstrated with coaxial electrospun fibers (Tong et al, 2015;Singh et al, 2018;Baek et al, 2019;Baek et al, 2020). Our nozzle to collector arrangement did generate encouraging differences in mechanical properties based on sample orientation but did not result in visible fiber alignment; and alternate approaches need to be explored.…”

“…Synthetic polymer nanofibers are easy to spin via this process. Solution‐blown nylon 6 nanofibers have been developed as highly effective air filtration media and protective materials . However, nature polymers are relatively difficult to blow to fibers because of their high viscosity of their solution even in low concentration.…”

“…Cibacron blue F3GA was covalently coupled to the nanofibers via nucleophilic reaction between the chloro groups of its triazine ring and the amino groups of CS shell at alkaline conditions . CB F3GA (50 mg) was dissolved in 100 ml of water.…”

“…Recent developments include multinozzle systems for industrial-scale production, 119 aqueous (heated) spinning, 118 and coaxial nozzles for core−shell fiber production. 120,121 Since its first report in 2009, 27 there has been an increasing number of papers concerned with several aspects (materials and process) of solution blow spinning. Compared with electrospinning, SBS presents some advantages including no need of applying an electrical voltage, low cost; ease of fabrication and scaling 3D structures with larger mesh size.…”
