Soluble polymers of monosubstituted acetylenes with quaternary ammonium pendant groups: structure and morphology

Abstract: Soluble conjugated polymers were obtained in the presence of Pd(II), Pt(II) and Rh(I) complexes from monosubstituted acetylene 3-dimethylamino-1-propyne (H-C equivalent to CCH(2)N(CH(3))(2), 1) and the corresponding hydrochloride (H-C equivalent to CCH(2)N(CH(3))2 center dot HCl, 2) and hydrobromide (H-C equivalent to CCH(2)N(CH(3))(2)center dot HBr, 3) derivatives. A series of reactions were performed to achieve the optimization of the polymerization conditions. The highest yields were found for polymers synt… Show more

“…The diameter and the diameter distribution of MNPs in H 2 O solution were investigated at 25 ± 0.2 °C (pH 7 and pH 2) by means of dynamic light scattering (DLS) technique by using a Malvern Nano ZS90 scattering apparatus (Malvern Instruments Ltd., Worcestershire, UK). The correlation functions were collected at = 90° relative to the incident beam, and delay times from 0.8 µs to 10 s were explored [4647]. Non-negative least-squares (NNLSs) [48] or CONTIN [49] algorithms, supplied with the instrument software, were used to fit correlation data.…”

“…Aryl alkynes subjected to γ-irradiation in organic solvent. 94 70 In another work, Fratoddi et al 96 prepared nanoparticles via osmosis-based technique from soluble monosubstituted polyacetylenes containing quaternary ammonium pendant groups. The methodology created in these studies provides a new route to prepare polyacetylenes by γ-irradiation rather than by using the 75 commonly used metal catalysts.…”
