Soliton Interactions with Different Dispersion Curve Functions in Heterogeneous Systems

Abstract: In the practical optical communication systems, there are some factors that can affect the transmission quality of optical solitons. The constant coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation has been unable to meet the actual research needs. We need to use the variable coefficient NLS equation to simulate the actual system, so as to explore its potential application value. In this paper, based on the variable coefficient NLS equation, six dispersion decreasing fibers (DDFs) with different dispersion curve … Show more

“…[18][19][20][21] However, this can cause interactions between adjacent optical soli-tons, which can cause distortion of some optical solitons, leading to a decrease in the bandwidth of the optical communication system and weakening its communication capability. [22][23][24][25] In order to improve the communication capability of the system, it is necessary to study the interaction between optical solitons in the system. Among them, the inelastic interaction behavior generated by vector solitons has been applied in systems such as all-optical switches.…”

“…Research of optical solitons is a significant subject in nonlinear optics, which is great potential in quantum information processing, optical communication, and optical switching, etc. [24][25][26][27] Transmission of optical solitons in an optical fiber is mathematically modeled with the standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE), only containing group velocity dispersion (GVD) and self-phase modulation (SPM) effects. As ultrashort pulse technology advances, the standard NLSE is no longer able to describe transmission of ultrashort optical solitons when the transmitted optical soliton is shortened to the femtosecond order.…”
