“…The present study revealed that plastic and rubber (C2) were identified as the most negative effects of waste on animals (W = 0.195), and that wood and paper (C3) were also were detected as the least negative effects of waste on animals (W = 0.091). Previous studies support these findings as they document that plastic and rubber have the worst effect on the environment (14), and wood and paper make the least changes in animal habitats (12). Another study found that the presence of plastic and paper in the animal habitat was correlated with chemical pollutants such as organic pollutants and heavy metals in animal habitats resources (16).…”

“…To the best of our knowledge, there was no research assessing the status of animal species, especially based on hu- man wastes, but the results of some studies (11)(12)(13)(14)(15) showed that rural wastes had negative effects on animal and their habitats. For explaining this part, it could be inferred that the assessment of the wild mammals status affected by hu- man wastes is an introduction to reduce the negative effects of waste on the animal in the future; According to this perspective, the results of this study are comparable with the results of studies in the field of waste impact assessment on the environment.…”

“…Table 1 shows the waste generation rate per capita in rural communities of developing countries, taking recent scientific literature as a reference [28][29][30][31][32][33]. As can be seen, the values vary substantially, in this case, from 0.18 to 0.57 kg/(inhabitant × day).…”

“…In rural communities in Tehran and Alborz provinces, the composition of household waste were 46.14% of food waste, 6.2% of paper and cardboard, 6.8% of plastics, 5.45% of metals, 3.28% of rubber, 4.35% of textile, 4.97% of glass, 9.31% of wood, and 5.28% of other wastes (Fig. 1) [5]. In 2014, about 962 kt year −1 (32%) of the solid waste produced in urban regions of Tehran was recyclable waste that about 11% of them separated in production source.…”
