Medical waste is stored and disposed of with domestic waste in primary health care clinics and is incinerated in hospitals, but there are no emission control or safety measures in addition there are some gaps in knowledge of health care workers, and current practices are inadequate (Massrouji, 2001) the operation of incinerators in Palestine insufficient and un acceptable because of the emissions of smoke and smells which affect health and the environment of the area (AL-khatib and Sato, 2009). , in the West Bank, many hospitals are using autoclaving to treat positive bacterial cultures, blood samples, syringes or any waste produced from testing or treatment of patients who are infected by acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) (Massrouji, 2001) .This study aims to provide some insight into assessment of medical waste management in Gaza Strip -Palestine, as well as to assess if there is any control measures for health care workers safety.…”
