Solar PV parameter estimation using multi-objective optimisation

Abstract: The estimation of the electrical model parameters of solar PV, such as light-induced current, diode dark saturation current, thermal voltage, series resistance, and shunt resistance, is indispensable to predict the actual electrical performance of solar photovoltaic (PV) under changing environmental conditions. Therefore, this paper first considers the various methods of parameter estimation of solar PV to highlight their shortfalls. Thereafter, a new parameter estimation method, based on multi-objective optim… Show more

“…Inside the handle_feed method, the coordinator node receives data sent by n-th node by calling the args() method of the server object; subsequently, the d at a Afterwards, the client modality of coordinator node is disabled and it is brought in access point modality for restarting the measurement cycle above described. Just as an example of the characterization activity carried out in the research work, in Figure 6 is shown the experimental setup employed for measuring current consumptions of sensor and coordinator nodes, in different operating modes when powered by super-capacitor recharged by means of the solar harvesting system [25][26][27]. By using Hantek DSO5072P oscilloscope and placing a 2.2 Ω sensing resistor in series with the power supply line of NodeMCU board, the absorbed current values during the different operation modes are measured.…”

“…The rest of the four parameters are needed to calculate. It can be calculated with the help of a manufacturing data sheet [21], [22]. The five parameters can be determined from the aforementioned information using various mathematical formulas that are then applied to various solar modules.…”

“…Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is one of these light sensors. Where the LDR sensor can be defined as a sensor to light that is coming from the sun along the day by receiving sunlight and giving a numerical value to the controller to direct the solar panels in a direction where the solar radiation has its maximum capacity [23][24][25]. Thus, LDR has a significant role in increasing the amount of solar energy extracted from solar panels.…”
