Solar Power Generation System With Power Smoothing Function

Abstract: The output power from a solar power generation system (SPGS) changes significantly because of environmental factors, which affects the stability and reliability of a power distribution system. This study proposes a SPGS with the power smoothing function. The proposed SPGS consists of a solar cell array, a battery set, a dual-input buck-boost DC-AC inverter (DIBBDAI) and a boost power converter (BPC). The DIBBDAI combines the functions of voltage boost, voltage buck and DC-AC power conversion. The BPC acts as a… Show more

“…The constraints may be exceeded if capacitor banks or voltage regulating devices are present, often put in substations to boost the voltage. Limiting the production of actual PV power is one potential solution to this problem [10]. The voltage will rise when power is reversed from the sporadic source and is directed toward the substation when a collection of sporadic PV systems is connected to a low voltage (LV) distribution network [11].…”

“…The above topologies are used for applications with a single DC source. A dual-input BBI is proposed in [16] to process the output powers of two DC sources. However, the dual-input BBI cannot provide reactive power.…”

“…Solar systems have been developed for different applications in industrial and domestic settings. The solar systems act as a collector, which captures solar energy and converts it into thermal or electrical energy [1]. The produced power is depended on the total energy captured by the collector.…”
