Abstract:Silica materials were prepared by the hydrolysis and condensation of alkoxysilane. Recently, we found that the hydrolysis behavior is dependent on the structure of ethoxyoligosiloxanes, such as tetraethoxysilane, hexaethoxydisiloxane, and octaethoxytrisiloxane. In this work, we report the preparation and properties of polysiloxanes using ethoxyoligosiloxanes and their transformation into silica thin films and xerogels with controlled porosity. Polysiloxane precursor solutions were prepared by the hydrolysis−co… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
