Sofrimento de mulheres moradoras de ocupação urbana recente

Abstract

According to the latest census of Brazil Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the number of inadequate residences has been growing in the country, and it has been doubling every decade. In the view of high rates of demographic density in these spaces, the lack of basic sanitation, the great risks of domestic accidents, among other issues as well, the absence of appropriate housing has also become a public health problem. In these spaces, there is a concentration of tensions that can cause a lot of suffering and worsen the health of the people who live there. Linked to this condition there are other questions like being a woman and being black that bring greater tensions before a structurally misogynistic and racist society.This study sought to analyze the suffering of women living in a recent urban occupancy in a city in the interior of state of São Paulo. This is a exploratory qualitative research with a transversal kind. It used interviews and the construction of genogram and related social networks of the four participating women. The results indicate the presence of suffering resulting from precarious housing, from social isolation and from silence. The way in which Primary Health Care (PHC) is organized and it works make difficult for occupational residents to access and perceive the forms of suffering encountered. The findings point to the need to discuss the revaluation of the Family Health Strategy (FHS), especially with regard to actions in the territory and the incorporation of these areas into basic health units, as well as further studies related to the protective factors of health in these spaces.
