Social Physique Anxiety: An Exploration of Influence on Sporting Confidence and Participation

Abstract: Limited research has been undertaken into influences on body image in sporting environments. This study investigates the relationship between social physique anxiety (SPA), body image, and sporting participation. Participants (n = 93) were recruited from an Australian university and sporting clubs, and completed a self-report questionnaire.
