Abstract:The paper describes the terminology of risk assessment in the view of food safety: different aspects of social involvement are defined and discussed; the terms Document, Expert, Risk manager, Lay Knowledge, Participant, Participation, Citizens’ involvement, Community of interest, Consultation, Trust and Social trust are presented. Also, the terms Adverse effects, Human Illness Source Attribution, Food hygiene, Emerging disease, Safety, Food security and Food safety are discussed.
