This study aims to analyze the actions of the Invisible Cities Project (ICP) as an example of social innovation and as a way of giving visibility to vulnerable communities. Initially, a theoretical framework was established to understand the possibilities of the visibility of isolated and poor communities located within the urban setting. This framework was established based on the literature that addresses the role of social innovation in cities. Then, participant observations were made in a community to analyze the initiatives that are part of the ICP. Finally, semi-structured interviews were conducted; these interviews reported the lived experiences of participants involved in the project through the narratives of the community members. Drawing from the specialized literature, it was found that this project carries out various aspects of social innovation, such as social visibility, empowerment, the articulation of different actors in society, social inclusion, and the improvement of the urban public space. The project also addresses a variety of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as eradicating poverty, promoting health and well-being, reducing inequalities, and fostering more sustainable cities and communities.

This article aims to analyse the importance of a field study of the Bujang Valley archaeological site in Kedah among students in the context of reinforcing heritage education. This study involved 400 university students who were randomly selected. A questionnaire instrument was used to elicit feedback, including the respondents' background, knowledge about Bujang Valley, knowledge about a guided tour of the exhibition gallery, knowledge about a guided tour of the archaeological site, knowledge about a demonstration technique and an archaeological excavation method, and knowledge about a field study of the archaeological site. The findings indicate that conducting the field study via activities during the guided tour of the exhibition galleries at the Bujang Valley Archaeological Museum (MALB) and the Hindu-Buddhist temple site is highly effective in enhancing heritage education. Indeed, it was able to impart knowledge about the significance of Bujang Valley to students enrolled in higher learning institutions (Mean=3.67 to Mean=5.00). Knowledge about Bujang Valley between education-based (UPSI) and non-education-based (UKM) students was equivalent, and there was no difference in any of the five variables (p> .05). This study is supposed to contribute in assisting the demonstration technique and archaeological excavation method crucial in reinforcing students' knowledge of the value of conservation and preservation of national heritage sites. Hence, the field study of the archaeological site and historical place needs to continue at higher learning institutions to further reinforce students' knowledge about the history and heritage of the country.

Purpose This paper aims to find out what attitudes Economics and Business students have towards sustainability and what they expect from their education in relation to the achievement of economic, social and environmental sustainability. The objective is to find out if the studies of Economics and Business favour the development of pro-sustainability attitudes, taking into account factors such as the gender of the students, the course in which they are enrolled and the economic training received before entering university. Design/methodology/approach A survey was designed covering ecological, social, cultural, economic and political aspects. The survey was conducted among students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management and the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. The authors used discriminant analysis and analysis of variance to test the research hypothesis. Findings Students are concerned about environmental problems and are aware of the need for action, but there is little consensus on the actions needed to overcome them. Some negationist traits are detected: those who rely more on technology give less importance to environmental problems and to the possibility of a major ecological catastrophe. Girls are more in favour of sustainability than boys, and students who have previously studied economics consider that their training has enabled them to evaluate the resources available and necessary to perform any job more than those who have not studied economics, regardless of their sex and year. Originality/value Many articles have focused on the importance of sustainability in higher education, but hardly any have analysed the role of economic education in achieving sustainability. Given the importance and the proven inter-relationship between economics and sustainability, with this article, the authors contribute to fill the gap in the literature. It is necessary that current students and future professionals receive adequate economic education.
