This study investigates risk management practices in public entities in the Ghana. We relied on the popular framework designed by the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission-COSO, to advocate for possible ways to minimize the occurrence and effects of risk in public organizations. The internal control elements used include: control environment, commitment to ethics, segregation of duties, review and information and communication. These constitute the explanatory variables used in performing multivariate data analysis to determine the dimensionality of the data set and possible outcomes. The exploratory research followed a quantitative approach using the survey method and a structured equation model. We established that, due to globalization and increases in the scale of operations, it is practically impossible for management through the help of auditors and those in charge of governance to validate the entire operations of the public sector to ensure strict compliance to internal control principles, in order to minimize the detrimental impacts of risk. However, an alternative sustainability depends on the prominence of quality financial reporting, compliance, commitment to ethical values and consistency in pursuit of the strategic and operational objectives based on good corporate governance. On the other hand, the implications of risks should be embedded in the minds of public servants as part of the organizational culture that will complement existing tools and techniques of internal control.

In recent years, the search for innovative pathways towards sustainability has been brought to the forefront of international agenda settings. While international organisations and institutions, such as the United Nations and the European Union (EU), mobilised around the grand challenge of sustainability, on both a local and a global scale, eco-innovation as a key concept (or buzzword) started emerging and consolidating in policy documents and funding schemes. By focusing on the European context, this paper aims to explore how the discourse of eco-innovation has been framed by the EU research funding programmes Horizon 2020 since the introduction of the 2011 Eco-Innovation Action Plan. The review was conducted by using content analysis methods designed to disclose the framing of eco-innovation in the EU programmes. The article presents three main findings: the eco-innovation discourse in the EU programmes has mostly become constructed around the notion of eco-efficiency; eco-innovation is overwhelmingly framed as a dialectic between the state vs private actors whereas stakeholders in the third sector such as cooperatives, nongovernmental organisations, social enterprises, and community-based initiatives are largely neglected; eco-innovation as a buzzword has been losing relevance through the years in favour of the new rising discourse of the 'circular economy'. The article concludes by highlighting that the construction of a new discourse on circular economy may provide the opportunity to embrace more eco-centric and inclusive approaches to economics, towards stronger sustainability and not-forprofit organisations. The process of massive transition of enterprises to Industry 4.0 is underway at the current stage. Under such circumstances the production units development management becomes impossible without a profound management processes transformation and the formalizing management actions. The purpose of the study is to improve the of knowledge-intensive industries development management through the creation of an algorithmic model of development in the new industrialization. In pursuit of this goal, the following tasks have been accomplished: subject-object relations were studied and attributed in knowledge-intensive industries development management; identified and formulated the basic principles of the development management model; identified the main levers of development management, taking into account interest groups; characterized by an elementary set of methods and tools for managing development; an algorithmic model for managing the development of high-tech industries was formed. One of the central elements of the proposed model is an assessment of the level of enterprise development. It includes compulsory monitoring of the production development and the degree of its knowledge-intensiveness. Assessment of the current development and interpretation of its results allow the selection of key indicators for a targeted impact on the development of high-tech production.
