Arid environments are suitable for researching the resilience of landscapes, since their ecological conditions pose continuous water stress to plants, animals, and humans living there. It is not only water, but also soil that is a limited resource. The arid landscape of the Eastern Marmarica (NW-Egypt) serves as an example for studying the resilience in and of a past landscape and its inhabitants from the 2nd millennium BCE to the 1st millennium CE, which is conceptualised as a ‘social arid landscape’. The adapted life strategies and resilient practices to make a living in the arid environment are reconstructed from (geo-) archaeological evidence, discussing the applicability of the concept of resilience for ancient (landscape) studies. Resilience is an etic concept, depending on the perspective on and scale of a system. With the categories of ‘event’, ‘practice’ and ‘knowledge’, however, various scales can be bridged; life strategies can be defined as communities of practice and dichotomies be solved. Niche dwellings in the ancient Marmarica, where exposure to stress was normal, functioned because of an elaborate water management and the mobility of the people living there. The resilience of the arid social landscape is based on mixed life strategies, where only a multi-factored crisis (economic and climatic) or a series of smaller shocks (many dry years) could have destructive impacts.

This study aims to explore the concept of eco-connectivity that appears in online-based PJJ for mentally disabled children. Furthermore, the study conducted discourse on conventional learning models to understand the need for developing current learning models. Qualitative research with a case study approach was used in this study to examine the phenomenon of eco-connectivity of art learning for mentally disabled children at SLB Gedangan Sidoarjo, East Java. The research subjects were IB and AM, mentally disabled children C in SLB Gedangan Sidoarjo, East Java. This research was conducted from September 2020 to January 2021. The data obtained were analyzed from John Dewey about art education and its existence, Cathy Malchiodi about education for children with special needs, and learning connectivity from George Siemens. The results showed that learning the art of mentally disabled children online led to parental collaboration and environmental management to help the learning process. This refers to the concept of eco-connectivity, which utilizes the integration of the environment around mentally disabled children to support ongoing academic nuances. Furthermore, eco-connectivity maximizes teachers' role in adjusting circumstances by designing learning according to essential competencies and making tutorials that facilitate children's learning with the help of children's learning environments. Eco-connectivity can also be seen in the assessment process by reviewing children's work and interviews with parents. This provides a comprehensive assessment, which further strengthens teachers, parents, and the environment to support mentally disabled children's competence through art learning

Podmiotem sprawczym decydującym o stanie środowiska przyrodniczego, a także sytuacji zdrowotnej, jest człowiek. Jego aktywność przyczynia się do wieloaspektowych przekształceń środowiska przyrodniczego, prowadząc niekiedy do powstania konfliktu na linii człowiek-środowisko. Skuteczne oddziaływanie na zdrowie wymaga nie tylko podnoszenia poziomu wiedzy zdrowotnej jednostek oraz kształtowania ich umiejętności życiowych służących zdrowiu, ale także podejmowania działań sprzyjających środowisku zewnętrznemu, które istotnie determinuje stan zdrowia człowieka. Jak wskazuje Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia, środowisko zewnętrzne jest jednym z głównych determinantów zdrowia. Szacuje się, że odpowiada za ok. 12-18% wszystkich zgonów w Europejskim Regionie WHO. Utrzymanie wysokiego poziomu jakości środowiska jest kluczową aktywnością społeczną, służącą poprawie zdrowia i jakości życia ludzi, przy czym można ją realizować poprzez wsparcie działań środowiskowych. Dlatego istotną rolę odgrywać powinno nowe podejście do zdrowia publicznego, zwane modelem ekologicznego zdrowia publicznego. Ważnym aspektem ekologicznego zdrowia publicznego jest także kwestia rozwoju świadomości ekologicznej społeczeństwa. Ochrona środowiska jest równoznaczna z dbałością o stan zdrowia ludzi. Głównym celem pracy było poznanie współczesnej strategii politycznej w zakresie zdrowia i środowiska, a także określenie na podstawie wyników badań innych autorów, czy w rozwiniętym cywilizacyjnie społeczeństwie XXI wieku dostrzec można modele człowieka homo sustinens oraz homo ecologicus. W celu skutecznej realizacji międzynarodowych strategii w zakresie zdrowia i środowiska niezbędne jest działanie specjalistów w zakresie zdrowia publicznego służące promocji wiedzy oraz wykształceniu umiejętności, które są jednocześnie prozdrowotne i proekologiczne.
