A description is given of an international project in which four countries are involved. The authors trace the origin and the historical and theoretical framework of the project. Independent and dependent variables, and the various scales are briefly presented. Next, the main effects of country and sex, and the interaction between the two are given for the several measurements: Educational Aspirations and Expectations, Importance of Marriage vs Career, Desired Number of Children, Masculinity score for self, Femininity score for self, Masculinity and Femininity scores for the ideal male and female, Mastery, Work, Competitiveness, Self‐Assertiveness, Internal Control, Boldness, Independence and Occupational Values. Differences and similarities between the countries, between sexes and between sexes in each country are discussed. Some comparisons highlight differences between industrial and developing countries.
