In March of 2021, the Santa Fe Institute hosted a workshop as part of its Foundations of Intelligence in Natural and Artificial Systems project. This project seeks to advance the field of artificial intelligence by promoting interdisciplinary research on the nature of intelligence. During the workshop, speakers from diverse disciplines gathered to develop a taxonomy of intelligence, articulating their own understanding of intelligence and how their research has furthered that understanding. In this report, we summarize the insights offered by each speaker and identify the themes that emerged during the talks and subsequent discussions.

Along with the rapid development of Internet and cyber techniques, the Internet of People (IoP) has been emerging as a novel paradigm which establishes ubiquitous connections between social space and cyberspace. Unlike the Internet of Things (IoT), human nodes in IoP are not only terminal users, but also significant participants bonded with tighter relationships. Note that IoP has deeply influenced our lives. For example, the prosperity of social media enables us to build and maintain new relationships without considering physical boundaries. In this paper, we give a comprehensive overview of IoP by comparing it with IoT, introduce its enabling techniques from aspects of sensing, communication and application. In addition, we summarize and compare popular IoP-enabled platforms according to different functions, and finally envision open issues needed to be further discussed in IoP. It provides constructive suggestions, lays solid foundations, and makes a basic blueprint for the future development of IoP paradigm.

Social interaction is a key feature of human society, and in today's digital world this is facilitated by new technological possibilities. Social communications are even more important in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, but they must consider the need to protect personal data and counteract the possible risk of privacy breaches. This requires a good level of digital literacy of users, which in the modern information society is associated with knowledge of the technological features of network processes and the need to ensure information security of own personal data and proposed information materials. The article discusses the role and place of social computing in the modern information society, including by highlighting the main forms of conduct, features, advantages, and disadvantages. The main attention is paid to the personal inviolability of the participant's personal life (privacy) in social communications and the need to protect personal data and personal space.
