SOBR: A High-Performance Shared Output Buffered Router for Networks-on-Chip

Abstract

SUMMARYThis paper presents a single-cycle shared output buffered router for Networks-on-Chip. In output ports, each input port always has an output virtual-channel (VC) which can be exchanged by VC swapper. Its critical path is only 24 logic gates, and it reduces 9.4% area overhead compared with the classical router.
