SOA-FOG: Secure service-oriented edge computing architecture for smart health big data analytics

Abstract: The smart health paradigms employ Internet-connected wearables for telemonitoring, diagnosis for providing inexpensive healthcare solutions. Fog computing reduces latency and increases throughput by processing data near the body sensor network. In this paper, we proposed a secure serviceorientated edge computing architecture that is validated on recently released public dataset. Results and discussions support the applicability of proposed architecture for smart health applications. We proposed SoA-Fog i.e. a … Show more

“…A three-tier architecture for the management of big data through SOA-FOG was presented. e research gives security information based on the client layer, cloud layer, and fog layer [75]. e Complexity study presented a comprehensive report of the industry 4.0 for addressing the challenges in the existing mHealth system and then provided a mobile smart health system known as mHealth 4.0 for providing effective solution based on big data for healthcare [76].…”

“…However, these studies did not take the communication and relationship inter-human under the proposed cloud-assisted IoMTs framework. Unlike cloud computing, fog computing is much closer to the users in IoMTs and can improve throughout and decrease the delay [98]- [100]. Both cloudassisted and fog-assisted IoMTs in health monitoring are in the early stage while the energy-efficient and delay-aware mechanisms need to be developed deeply.…”

“…Cisco defined fog computing as a distributed paradigm that provides cloud-like services to the edge of the network. They have been applied in various areas like the analysis of geospatial data [32][33][34], designing augmented reality-based gaming applications [35], smart city applications like vehicular network management [36,37] for smart parking, and sensor data analysis [38][39][40][41][42][43].…”
