A practical illustration for satellite imagery application can be for example:Resource finding and management, such as oil and gas: Remote monitoring of areas suitable for resource extraction, monitoring of facilities and transport movements [3]-[4]. Maritime intelligence and resource protection: Marine areas are vast and difficult to govern and police. In this realm there are multiple applications, such as detection of oil spills (and finding the culprits with correlation with AIS history of polluting vessels) [5]-[6], pirate vessel detection, prevention of smuggling or illegal fishing, and identification of non-compliant vessels [7]. Detection of military systems such as radar and rocket launchers [8] etc.Considering remote sensing satellite attributes and limitations the conflict between spatial and temporal resolution and coverage is obvious [9]. Put in a mission-oriented context the spatial and temporal requirements can be translated into the following satellite mission objectives:
