Апстракт: Циљ овог рада био је испитати релације између неких социо-демографских обиљежја и пушења. Наиме, ријеч је о релацији између пола, пушачког статуса родитеља и блиских пријатеља, те материјалног и здравственог стања, с једне стране, и пушења, као веома распрострањене болести зависности, с друге стране. У истраживању је учествовало укупно 196 испитаника, и то 101 непушач и 95 пушача. Ријеч је о студентима треће и четврте године Наставничког факултета Универзитета у Мостару, који су испунили Упитник о одређеним социо-демографским обиљежјима, који је конструисан за потребе овог истраживања. Резултати су показали да постоји статистички значајна разлика у склоности ка пушењу између дјевојака и младића, те да постоји статистички значајна повезаност између склоности ка пушењу и пушења родитеља, као и значајна повезаност између склоности ка пушењу и пушења блиских пријатеља. Поред тога, утврђено је да се пушачи и непушачи значајно разликују, како с обзиром на материјално стање, тако и с обзиром на њихово здравствено стање. Кључне ријечи: пол, пушење родитеља, пушење пријатеља, материјално стање, здравствено стање. УводБолести зависности представљају велики проблем појединца, породице и друштва. У XX вијеку имале су епидемијске размјере, а хиљаде различитих штетних супстанци, природних и синтетичких, уништавале су људе широм свијета. Тако је и на почетку овог вијека, који поред пушења, алкохолизма и наркоманије, доноси и неке нове болести зависности (Димитријевић, 2009). Међутим, још увијек највећу учесталост има пушење, које се може дефинисати као начин конзумирања духана узиманог у облику цигара, цигарета, цигарилоса и помоћу луле (Zvornik, 2007).Пушење је једна од најчешћих, најраспрострањенијих и најсмртоноснијих болести зависности (WHО, 2006(WHО, ., према Николић 2007, те је формулисан велики број теорија које настоје објаснити ову болест зависности. Ипак, бихејвиорална теорија која пушење сматра наученим обликом понашања, данас има највише присталица (Burns, 2007). При томе, представници наведене теорије посебно истичу теорију поткрепљења, према којој пушачи конзумирају цигарете јер их то смирује. Наиме, овај облик понашања се понавља у многим ситуацијама које су повезане са стресом, напетошћу и анксиозношћу, а будући да доноси смирење, бива поткријепљен и учвршћен. На тај 2 начин, према тумачењу бихејвиориста, које је поприлично усвојено, цигарете помажу људима да регулишу своја когнитивна и емоционална стања (Sarafino, 1994).Дакле, пушење је научено понашање које има своје фазе, а већина аутора издваја сљедеће четири: фазу припреме, фазу експериментисања цигаретама, фазу навикавања (хабитуације) и фазу зависности (адикције) (Zvornik, 2007). Наиме, сусрет са пушењем у фази припреме најчешће се одвија у породици, па уколико родитељи пуше њихове пушачке навике најчешће дјелују на дјецу на начин да они пушење почињу перципирати као нормално и очекивано понашање одраслих (Darling, 2003). Tobacco kills half of its users if they don't stop. Cigarettes kill more than 8 million people every year, including an estimated 1.3 million passive smokers who are exposed to active smokers. Smoking behavior is truly an action that has a negative impact on smokers themselves and their entire community. About one in seven deaths worldwide are caused by smoking. This research was conducted by analyzing the results of the National Socioeconomic Survey (Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional/SUSENAS). SUSENAS 2021 was carried out by the Statistics Indonesia (Central Statistics Agency/BPS) in March 2021. It covered all provinces in Indonesia. It was done to meet the need of social and economic development data at district, province, and national level, including data on sustainable development goals. The unit analysis of this study was population aged 15 years and above who smoke nicotine cigarettes. The unweighted number of the respondents in the study was 1888. The dependent variable was whether the smoke nicotine cigarette or not. The independent variables were gender, age, marital status, education, place of residence, island of dwelling, and working status. The in this study were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses to assess, respectively, the sample characteristics, percentage distribution of those who reported crimes by demographic and socioeconomic factors, and demographic and socioeconomic causes of crime reporting. A binary logistic regression was used to investigate demographic and socioeconomic factors of crime reporting. The probability of smoking was higher among those who were males, were aged 30-54 years, had no schooling/incomplete primary school and complete primary school, lived in urban areas, dwelled in Bali and Nusa Tenggara Island, and were not working

To analyze the association between smoking status (active smoking and exposure to Second-Hand Smoking (SHS)) and the synergistic effect of smoking status and BMI with gout risk, a community-based case-control design was undertaken among 385 participants, including 304 healthy controls and 81 gout patients from seven community health services. Adjusted Odd Ratios (AORs) and 95% Confidence Interval (CIs) of gout for active smoking and SHS were 3.26 (95% CI = 1.07~9.90) and 4.67 (95% CI = 2.18~10.00) compared to non-smokers. Time-dependent manner of active smoking and SHS significantly increased gout risk with AORs and 95% CIs of 5.95 (1.41~25.03) and 10.12 (3.51~29.14). Dose-dependency of active smokers and SHS showed AORs and 95% CIs of 5.15 (1.28~20.63) and 4.37 (1.33~14.28). Smoking 20 cigarettes (one pack) per day for one year is equivalent to one pack-year. Active smoking >20 pack-year and SHS > 26.5 pack-year increased gout risk with AORs and 95% CIs of 7.18 (1.53~33.67) and 9.95 (3.64~27.22). Participants who smoked (active smoking and SHS) and with Body Mass Index (BMI) of > 24.9 kg/m2 synergistically increased gout risk, with an AOR of 9.65 and 95% CI of 3.25~28.65, compared to BMI ≤ 24.9 kg/m2 and non-smoker. Smoking status (active smoking and SHS) and the synergistic effect of smoking status and BMI increased gout risk in Indonesia.
