“…In order to realize potential low-cost solutions, a broadband light source (SLD) and polychromator spectrometer readout of FBG reflection signals in the 800-850 nm wavelength range have been preferred to scanning Fabry-Perot interferometers or tunable lasers in the 1550 nm range (the latter method was tested in the project by DaimlerChrysler with similar technical performance results 11 ).
