Smart or Simple Solution? How Artificial Intelligence Facilitates Clinical Decision for Radiation Oncologists in Preoperative Chemoradiotherapy for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

Abstract

H3BO3 injection(BNCT) for the sake of possible latent tumor. H3BO3 injection was delivered at 20 minutes before RII. Results: The 4-year local control(LC), overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS) and late complication(LAC, G2) rates for patients in group A and B were evaluated comparatively. The LC,OS and DFS rates in group B were significantly higher than they in group A(P<0.05). While, the LAC rate in group B was not significantly different from it in group A(P>0.05) (see the Table 1). No serious LAC(G3) occurred in both group A and B. Conclusion: The individual Cf-252 neutron ICBT protected by IPIA combined with RII after the H3BO3 injection(imply BNCT) showed promising and cost effective efficacy and safety in treating these low-lying T3N0-1 rectal adenocarcinoma patients whose TR were 50% after CCR.
