The urgency of research with the theme of designing and implementing a smart home monitoring and control system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve energy efficiency and quality of life is very important to carry out, in general it can be described as being able to increase energy efficiency; improve the quality of life where the system can regulate temperature, humidity and lighting to create a comfortable and healthy environment; encourage innovation; providing solutions to environmental challenges; optimizing energy availability where the smart home IoT system can regulate the use of available energy. Thus, it is very important to carry out this research to face environmental challenges and improve people's quality of life. The main objective of this research is to develop a system that can monitor and control energy use in the home efficiently, so as to improve energy efficiency and the quality of life of home residents, to overcome weaknesses and develop a holistic and effective smart home monitoring and control system. IoT based. The method used in this research is the Research and Development method, where this method is a process or steps to develop a new product or improve an existing product, which can be accounted for. The research results show that the IoT system can be designed and function well based on the results of the tests that have been carried out.

<p>Energy efficiency is widely recognized as one of the most significant and economical ways to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The aims and goals are that smart meters can evaluate and communicate in-depth real-time electricity usage, enable remote real-time monitoring and management of power consumption, and provide consumers with real-time pricing and analyzed usage information. The house energy management controller decides which loads will be powered based on the real home energy demands and the predefined load priorities. Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used increasingly in control applications due to its great effectiveness and efficiency. As a result, in this work, the author designed, simulated, and optimized an artificial neural network-based model simulation framework that simulates a home with a variety of home appliances and optimizes the total energy consumption of the home realistically through intelligent control of home appliances. The MATLAB application was used to model and examine the performance of four common household appliances: the water heater (WH), washing machine (WM), air conditioner (AC), and refrigerator (RG). The result shows a considerable reduction and savings in energy consumption without a decrease in consumer comfort.<strong></strong></p>

Energy consumption is a crucial aspect in the effort to optimize the utilization of resources and reduce energy wastage. Focusing on energy efficiency can result in operational cost savings, a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and support for environmental sustainability for future generations. Therefore, it is important to consider energy efficiency in daily life, especially in the use of electricity for electronic devices. This research aims to compare the energy efficiency of two different approaches to Air Conditioner (AC) usage: the manual method and the fuzzy logic method. The manual method involves eight tests with direct power measurements over a 30-minute period at various AC temperature settings, namely 18°C, 20°C, 23°C, 24°C, 25°C, 26°C, 27°C, and 30°C. On the other hand, the fuzzy logic method involves six tests allowing for dynamic temperature adjustments based on room conditions. The research findings indicate that the fuzzy logic method achieves lower average power consumption, except at 30°C, where the manual method is slightly more efficient (a difference of 140,745 watts). This difference is primarily attributed to the "cooling and fan" mode used at lower temperatures in the manual method, resulting in higher power consumption. Furthermore, this research reveals the potential of the fuzzy logic in optimizing AC power usage based on real-time conditions, achieving approximately a 41.96% energy savings. The primary contribution of this study is to provide practical insights into how the fuzzy logic method can significantly reduce AC energy consumption, support energy efficiency efforts, and contribute to environmental sustainability.
