Smart autonomous self powered wireless sensor networks based low-cost landslide detection system

Abstract: Landslides are one of the very serious geologic hazard happens in almost every country around the World. Globally, landslides cause hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries each year and also Financial Losses. Landslides are mostly unpredictable and occur within a short period of time. To save human life and avoid losses, efficient Technology has to be developed and implemented in high geologically hazardous Areas with low cost. Wireless Sensor Networks Plays a major role in Environment monitoring system. … Show more

“…Bencana ini dapat dipantau dengan cermat melalui pemasangan berbagai jenis sensor. WSN memiliki beberapa keunggulan, di antaranya adalah: (1) biaya yang terjangkau [7][8] [9][10], (2) respons yang cepat [11], dan (3) fleksibilitas yang baik. Salah satu protokol komunikasi yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam WSN adalah protokol LoRa.…”

“…The authors in two modelsused soil moisture sensors, accelerometer sensors, and temperature sensors and one of the, used an inclinometer sensor with GSM module attached to it [11], [12]. Another model used accelerometer only for detecting landslide but the system is self-powered (solar-powered) [13].…”

“…Karthik et al developed and implemented low-cost autonomous WSN for landslide detection with a Self-Energy Harvesting Powered Early Warning System (WSN-SEH). The WSN-SEH contains MEMS sensors, energy harvesting systems, low power embedded controls, an efficient power management system, and a supercapacitor as storage [5].…”
