Smaller, lighter coloured and less hairy Procladius (Diptera, Chironomidae) in warmer climate

Abstract: The relationship between body size, colour and hairiness of Procladius of the Diptera family Chironomidae and climate measured as annual mean air temperature was analysed. The study was based on 453 males representing 31 species from 253 localities in 27 countries in Europe and six elsewhere.
