Pseudomys novaehollandiae is often associated with microhabitats of high floristic diversity which is largely a function of its granivorous diet and recolonization of heath following disturbance in the early or middle seral stages is typical of this species (Fox & Fox 1978; Kemper 1990), abundance increases with regeneration age over this period.
