Slot-Type Mimo Antenna With Pattern and Circular Polarization Diversity for Mobile Applications

Abstract: Here we propose an L-shaped slot-type MIMO antenna with pattern and circular polarization diversity for WLAN applications. In order to maintain a low profile, the pattern and polarization diversities have been achieved without using additional supporting structures. Both the antenna elements are located at the corners of the same side of the ground plane. One of the antenna elements produces left hand circularly polarized (CP) waves whereas the other element produces right hand CP waves in (front) +z-direction… Show more

“…In the existing literature, various techniques are devised to enhance the isolation between the antennas and at the same time maintaining the device volume at the optimum levels such that the antenna can be inserted in the present miniaturized wireless components. The techniques include neutralization line, 9 decoupling structure, 10 meta‐materials, 11 matching networks, 12 pattern diversity, 13 and altering antenna shape 14 . Another design challenge is developing the antenna system, covering wide variety of applications.…”
