Sliding Mode Pulsewidth Modulation (SMPWM) for nine-switch converter

Abstract: Nine-switch converter, which can provide two sets of three-phase outputs with independent amplitudes, phases and frequencies, has been proposed to replace two independent three-phase converters for cost-and size-reduced purposes. This paper proposes a hysteresis-modulation (HM) sliding-mode (SM) pulsewidth modulation (PWM) for the nine-switch converter. With the proposed HM-SMPWM, the phase currents of the two sets of outputs can track to their current references directly. To do this, decoupled sliding surface… Show more

“…28 Therefore, SMC is a switching controller that can be designed as modulation technique to directly trigger the switching devices of power converter. This approach, called sliding mode pulse-width modulation (SMPWM), has been applied to three-phase inverter, 29 motor drive system, 30 nine-switch converter, 31 and conditioner. 32 In principle, the SMPWM design uses circuit analysis and different approaches to enforce sliding mode.…”
