“…Our results show that poor sleep quality may be more common in psoriasis (76·3%) than in the general population (estimated 30–50%) . Indeed, sleep quality and sleep efficiency were worse than previously reported in cohorts with psoriasis or diabetes and are equivalent to those seen in psoriatic arthritis . Additionally, we observed a high probability of OSA in our sample (32·8%), again at a rate higher than the prevalence in the general population (3–7%), although somewhat lower than the rate of around 50% reported in other psoriasis samples …”

“…It is possible that negative effects of psoriatic arthritis on quality of life in patients with psoriasis may, in part, contribute to suicidal risk. For example, sleep quality is significantly diminished in these patients, and is associated with generalized pain and anxiety . Moreover, the Danish population is predominantly white, which may limit the extrapolation of our results to other ethnicities.…”

“…This study included only individuals with RA, but high levels of fatigue have been found in other rheumatic conditions as well, including osteoarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis . Relatively high prevalence rates of obesity, depression, sleep disturbance, and/or inactivity have been reported in each of these conditions , so it is possible that these factors may play an important role in fatigue in other rheumatic conditions as well. In fibromyalgia, another condition with high levels of fatigue, sleep disturbance, depression, obesity, and inactivity are common .…”
