“…The second aim of the study was to investigate whether the harmful effects of FV could be mediated by sleep quality. Previous studies have established that FV has a negative effect on sleep and that sleep quality is in turn associated with physical and mental health . In this study, sleep quality was found to be a significant mediator between FV and depressive symptoms, MHC‐SF classification and MHC‐SF cluster scores, thus supporting the previous findings by Pigeon et al.…”

All of the sleep studies support the finding that intimate partner violence has the capacity to impact negatively on both the quality and quantity of sleep in women with experience of IPV.…”

“…Domestic violence and particularly sexual violence can lead to a greater occurrence of several physical, reproductive and mental health problems, and also leads to greater use of the various health services by women. 1,5,6,7 Although existing research 8,9,10 has contributed to improving the quality of the investigation of the violence suffered by women, many instruments are still limited by a variety of methodological shortcomings 1,4,5,7,11 . Such probing tools concerning violence suffered in childhood/ adolescence ignore the dimensional features of traumatic events 12,13 .…”
