Skin Disease Recognition Method Based on Image Color and Texture Features

Abstract: Skin diseases have a serious impact on people's life and health. Current research proposes an efficient approach to identify singular type of skin diseases. It is necessary to develop automatic methods in order to increase the accuracy of diagnosis for multitype skin diseases. In this paper, three type skin diseases such as herpes, dermatitis, and psoriasis skin disease could be identified by a new recognition method. Initially, skin images were preprocessed to remove noise and irrelevant background by filteri… Show more

“…The classification accuracy of each class is separately calculated 85%, 90%, 95%, respectively. On average, the correct accuracy of classification can be considered 90% [17]. In this article, using the SVM method, the correct classification rate was first calculated 73%, and after applying genetic coefficients, it was calculated 99%.…”

“…Skin diseases are also classified through the necessary image processing approaches like morphological operations for skin detection [ 22 , 23 ]. Morphological opening, closing, dilation, and erosion mostly rely on the binary image generated through the thresholding, and resultantly at most care must be taken to determine the optimal threshold value.…”

“…The study was performed with a view to future integration of matters concerning skin diseases in children. In [16][20], Three forms of skin diseases such as herpes, dermatitis, and psoriasis are recognized through a modern recognition system. Skin images have been preprocessed by filtering and modifying to strip out noise and irrelevant characteristics.…”
