Síntese de derivados 4-aril-3,4-di-hidrocumarínicos catalisada por NbCl5

Abstract: Recebido em 29/1/13; aceito em 17/6/13; publicado na web em 2/8/13 SYNTHESIS OF 4-ARYL-3,4-DIHYDROCOUMARIN DERIVATIVES CATALYZED BY NbCl 5 . Multicomponent reactions between phenols, b-diesters and benzaldehydes for the synthesis of 4-aryl-3,4-dihydrocoumarin derivatives were carried out under mild conditions (room temperature) and presented moderate yields (38-88%) and reasonable reaction times (2-4 days), using niobium pentachloride as a catalyst. Keywords: niobium pentachloride; multicomponent reaction; coum… Show more

“…The name coumarin comes from a French term for the Tonka bean, coumarou (Dipteryx odorata), isolated by Vogel, 1820 (Venugopala et al 2013;Rohini and Srikumar 2014;Matos et al 2015). Due to its sweet odor, similar to vanilla, coumarin has been used in perfumes since 1882 (Aslam et al 2010;Santos et al 2013;Matos et al 2015).…”

“…The simplicity and versatility of the coumarin molecule makes it an interesting starting point for a wide range of applications (Matos et al 2015). They are used as technological potential in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, fragrance industries, food, cosmetic industry, and in color technology as optical brightening agents or laser dyes (Daru and Stirling 2011;Santos et al 2013;Venugopala et al 2013;Vekariya and Patel 2014). Coumarins constitute the largest class of fluorescent dyes (Martins et al 2012).…”

“…NbCl 5 forms chloro-bridged dimers in its solid state in which each niobium atom is surrounded by a distorted octahedron of chlorine atoms. NbCl 5 is highly electrophilic and can act as a Lewis acid, promoting several organic transformations (Batista et al, 1997;Kobayashi et al, 2000;Constantino et al, 2001Constantino et al, , 2004Constantino et al, , 2005Constantino et al, , 2007Andrade, 2004;da Silva-Filho et al, 2005Andrade & Rocha, 2006;Wang et al, 2007;Polo et al, 2008;Cai et al, 2010;Hou et al, 2010Hou et al, , 2011Lacerda et al, 2012;Liu et al, 2013;Martins et al, 2013;dos Santos et al, 2013;Bian et al, 2014;Nasseri et al, 2014).…”
