“…6 are very close to those reported by Lv et al [31]. They prepared BaCe 0.45 Zr 0.45 M 0.1 O 3−ı (M = In, Y, Gd, Sm) by conventional sintering at 1600 • C. The sample doped with Y exhibited the highest proton conductivity of 1.06 × 10 −2 S/cm at 800 • C. In the present work, 2 mol% of ZnO was used as the sintering aid and to lower the sintering temperature to 1450 • C. However, the conductivities obtained from the two cases were almost in the same level.…”

“…It was also reported that the Zr content in the range 20-40 mol% in doped barium cerate zirconate would be required to maintain high electrical conductivity and chemical stability under CO 2 -containing atmosphere [19,20]. Yttrium doped barium cerate zirconate (BaCe 1-x-y Zr x Y y O 3-, BCZY) in the form of sintered pellets has been widely investigated as one of promising proton conducting materials with high conductivity and chemical stability under CO 2 -or H 2 O-or H 2 S-containing atmosphere [20][21][22][23][24][25]. Among barium cerate zirconate compounds of of NiO-BCZY were pre-sintered in air at 700 °C for 2 h. The proton conducting oxide electrolyte layer of BCZY with 10-15 µm was deposited on the pre-sintered NiO-BCZY anode substrates by pulsed injection type wet powder spraying developed at NRC [33].…”

“…Considerable research efforts have focused on tailoring the phase stability and conductivity of proton conductors via doping [12,[18][19][20][23][24][25][26][27][28]. BaZrO 3 has a similar lattice structure to BaCeO 3 , and possesses sufficiently high stability to water and carbon dioxide but poor protonic conductivity and poor sinterability [29][30][31].…”
