Abstract:The paper is devoted to the phenomenon of stigmatization of people from China during the worldwide spread of the coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The crisis rallied society in search of someone to be blamed for the pandemic, as a result of which China and its people became victims of stigmatization. The outbreak of the coronavirus infection led to the formation of not only epidemiological, but also cultural barriers that became the basis for stigmatization and contributed to segregation.
