Single-Step Transvaginal Aspiration and Drainage for Suspected Pelvic Abscesses Refractory to Antibiotic Therapy

Abstract: Transvaginal ultrasonographically guided aspiration or catheter placement with the trocar technique is a safe and effective treatment for suspected pelvic abscesses refractory to antibiotic therapy.

“…The development of dedicated endoprobes with needle guides has established US-guided transvaginal and transrectal abscess drainage as reliable treatments.
