“…wavelength of AuNRs can be finely tuned from the visible to the NIR region by altering the length-to-diameter aspect ratio. [8][9][10] Traditionally, synthesized AuNRs contain cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a cationic surfactant to prevent aggregation or agglomeration. [11,12] However, CTAB is a potentially toxic chemical that may cause adverse effects, such as inhibition of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase and destabilization of cell membranes.…”

“…We prepared the Cy5-mSiO 2 @GNRs that showed an improvement in sensing performance by maximal EF MEF , following the investigation of their optimum morphological conditions. We adopted GNRs as cores, as they have two surface plasmon resonances (transverse and longitudinal) that arise from the collective oscillation of conduction band electrons on the GNR surface, and exhibit a much stronger plasmonic resonance than gold nanoparticles. Consequently, GNRs functionalized with fluorescent labels are widely employed in various biomedical applications, including imaging and therapy . Additionally, we used mSiO 2 as a shell to encapsulate a large amount of Cy5 fluorophores into the porous structures and provide an appropriate distance from the GNRs, as the level of fluorescence amplified by the MEF phenomenon significantly varies with the distance between the fluorophore and metal surface.…”

“…43,44 All nanomaterial categories have been extensively utilized for various biomedical applications, with intense research into the design of nanoparticles for medicinal and pharmaceutical applications revealing several advantages. [45][46][47] The use of nanomaterials for the treatment of neurological conditions has progressed considerably. Studies focusing on the use of nanomaterials against AD have yielded positive results.…”
